Role/ Department:

This role is within Northern Trust’s growing UK Fund Accounting team.  This team looks after more than 10% of all UK Authorised Funds for numerous Fund Management clients. Within the Department the Funds are split by Client. This role is for oversight of our offshore locations, and service the clients’ needs relating to the NAV process. The successful applicant will have exposure to a range of products. 

This specialist role will report to the Head of NAV Oversight alongside three Managers running Nav Oversight teams. They will be focusing on operational readiness for the NAV Oversight and Production teams for new clients and existing client change.
 

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Lead and assist the team with NAV change through governance and project managementProvide clear status updates on change inflight back to the Change TeamSME knowledge expected on UK OEICS, equities, bonds. Pooling funds, Pension schemesRequired to learn multiple clients nuances to ensure SME resourceAttend client meetings as the SME to discuss client changeFor projects impacting NAV Oversight represent as business lead, requiring you to recognise the risks and business constraints to the processWork with the offshore team as an escalation point on projects impacting the end to end NAV process 

Skills / Qualifications

Strong knowledge and experience of Fund AccountingHas a detailed understanding of the industry and NT, in particular NT’s systems, infrastructure and process/data flowsStrong communication, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skillsExcellent Project Management skills

Qualifications

Project Management qualifications advantageous (e.g. PRINCE2)Completed modules in the IOC (or Industry standard equivalent).Complies with the companies policy on educational standards.

 The successful candidate will benefit from having:

Experience in Fund Accounting role, production experience an advantageManagement skills to work within a global team.Ability multitask to achieve deadlines for client deliverables.Knowledge of the FCA regulations pertaining to Unit Trusts, Mutual Funds, OEICs and all the above mentioned fund types i.e. COLL.The job holder must possess good interpersonal skills for liaising with other members of their team, other Internal Departments, Trustees/Depositaries, Custodians, Auditors, offshore locations and the Fund Management Companies to which we provide a service.Disciplined, authoritative, determinedIdentifies solutions as well as issuesAbility to prioritise workloads effectivelyTakes initiative to improve areas outside of immediate responsibilities
