Provides product-aligned support to portfolio managers and serves as the point of contact for Middle Office investment operations inquires. Produces gold-copy data per function assigned with a focus on operational efficiency and output quality. Oversees compliance and drives process improvement. Shares deep subject matter expertise across the team as well as with internal and external business partners.
Core Responsibilities
1. Supports the Fixed Income Group’s portfolio managers for a suite of large or complex products to ensure operational objectives are met. Uses scenario analysis to increase event understanding and delivers insights to inform and enhance investment management decisions.
2. Understands portfolio movements and uses knowledge to respond to and guide portfolio managers.
3. Proactively identifies and mitigates external events and regulatory changes that impact team. Adheres to various control standards to ensure compliance and interacts with Risk Management Group and other partners to improve policy adherence.
4. Drives improvements of financial and performance management and forecast reports. Proactively anticipates portfolio events and leads process enhancement initiatives. Performs root cause analysis and applies findings to global process improvement efforts.
5. Engages and collaborates with internal partners, including global Middle Office, Investment Operations, and Fund Accounting teams, to provide holistic support. Leverages strong industry knowledge to support relationship management and strengthen team offer.
6. Assists the global process owners in the creation of workflow procedures and maintains comprehensive documentation of current policies and procedures.
7. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years related work experience.Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred. Progress toward CFA or MBA preferred.Previous experience in Blackrock’s Aladdin required. Experience should include one or more of Cash and Liquidity Management, Reconciliations, Derivatives Operations, Term Loans, Corporate Actions, and TBAs.Special Factors
