**Job Title: Furnace Operator | $29/HR | 3rd Shift**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Furnace Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for pre-casting preparation, managing the melting and pouring process, and handling post-casting duties. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate various types of equipment in a foundry environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Verify molds are prepped and positioned for casting.
+ Inspect molds for defects before use.
+ Load and transport materials needed for the casting process.
+ Operate and maintain air rollover melt and vacuum melter equipment.
+ Monitor melt temperatures and adjust as needed.
+ Control the pouring process to ensure accurate and consistent metal flow.
+ Stage molds for casting and load ovens as required.
+ Pack crucibles and prepare materials for melting.
+ Remove solidified castings from molds after cooling.
+ Perform initial inspections on cast parts for defects.
+ Handle, label, and transfer cast parts to the next stage of production.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of previous foundry experience
+ 2+ years of experience operating furnaces and heat treating
+ Comfortable lifting up to 70lbs
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous casting experience in a similar industry
+ Experience in grinding, sanding, assembly, and metal finishing
+ Knowledge of blueprint reading and quality assurance
+ Mechanical aptitude and experience with machine operation and packaging

**Work Environment**
This position is in a foundry work environment, which can be extremely hot in the summer. To ensure the well-being of our employees, we offer extra breaks, drinks, and popsicles. Training will be conducted on the first shift for one month (6am-2:30pm), after which the role will transition to the third shift (9pm-5:30am) with a shift differential.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Willoughby, Ohio.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $57000.00 - $57000.00/yr.
Full time benefits, pay, PTO, employee appreciation and bonuses available. Annual merit increases as well as competitive shift differentials
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Willoughby,OH.
