Shift: 2nd Shift Monday to Friday 1:00 PM- 10:00 PM

($1.50 Shift Premium)


Purpose of Role: The Furnace Operator fills a critical role in the Melting Department. This individual is responsible for operating the Electric Arc Furnace, where they melt the steel into a molten bath. This prepares the steel to be transferred to the refining process. The Furnace Operator is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting their equipment as well.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow all Melting Work Instructions to ensure safety and product quality.

Monitor Electric Arc Furnace throughout the melt cycle.

Maintain Furnace lining between cycles.

Participate in Safety and Quality initiatives as part of our Continuous Improvement culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma/GED

Manufacturing experience desired, but not required

Ability to obtain forklift license through Weir Esco

Good reading, writing, computer, and verbal skills
