Job Description

This role is a key to ensuring successful delivery against the program- and study-level accountabilities assigned to Data and Statistical Sciences.
Responsibilities:
Aligns Data Science and Statistics study teams with program- and study-level strategies. Supports governance of assigned programs and studies, both within and outside Data Science and Statistics. Assigned programs may include programs of any size or any complexityTechnical expert that will independently identify, engineer, and optimize new data, software, orDemonstrate proficiency in a broad range of techniques and methods for information technology engineering, including software development, data warehousing, statistics, machine learning, and/or technology infrastructure (including servers, storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments).Technology Engineers will be aligned to a specific area: Information, Software, Data, or Infrastructure.For assigned programs, acts as single point of contact and accountable operational lead from Data Science and Statistics. Coordinates associated Data Science and Statistics study teams to meet operational objectives. Engages and connects global functional and cross-functional teams at both the program and study levelsInteracts with and influences all levels of management and cross-functional team members to achieve program objectives. Represents Data Sciences in cross-functional forums and, if assigned, leadership meetingsUtilizes operational analytics and project management tools to optimize execution of programs and studies, to manage internal and external resources, to track study progress, and to prepare study status reports. Anticipates and identifies issues that could affect timelines of own, as well as studies managed by the team. Anticipates and identifies issues that could affect timelines or quality and develops options and solutionsEnsure adherence to federal regulations and applicable local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and to functional quality standards. Stays abreast of new and/or evolving local regulations, guidelines and policies related to clinical development. Coordinates and participates as the Data Sciences study owner in regulatory inspections and internal quality auditsParticipates in oversight of vendors and provides feedback related to clinical trial operations, issues, and trends in performanceResponsible for coaching and mentoring team members, as well as providing input into their developmentLeads Data Science and Statistics and cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiativesIf assigned, responsible for identifying training needs and standardizing and facilitating training solutions for Data Sciences roles. Conducts “lessons learned” across functionsMay include direct and/or indirect supervision of staff, as well as contract resources.Qualifications
Qualifications:
Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as his/her role in achieving those objectives,and modify approach when required.Escalates open issues to ensure execution success and keeps stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.Learn, understand and master new methods and technologies, and act as a resource or mentor for others.Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.Obtain estimates/quotes from vendors and provide as input into overall project time and cost estimates.Maintains relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, and vendors in accordance with Abbvie Values,Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work product.Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies: including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.Bachelors degree in relevant field and at least 5 years relevant experience OR Masters degree in relevant field and at least 4 years experience.Additional Information
