FY25 Intern - Scoring framework - 6 months, Sophia Antipolis

Company:Qualcomm France S.A.R.L.

Job Area:Interns Group, Interns Group > Interim Intern

General Summary:

Qualcomm France’s QITC mission is to develop and deploy highly configurable custom-built interconnect hardware NoC (Network-on-Chip) IPs, software tools, exploration and verification methodologies so that worldwide SoC integration teams can quickly assemble SoCs with the desired Power Performance Area (PPA) characteristics. To this end, QITC technology embraces the complete SoC infrastructure to provide increased SoC performance at minimal cost for integration. Our work is at the backbone of the SoC, interconnecting all major IP solutions. QITC is always searching for new solutions to increase the design and quality of the NoCs micro architecture hence the desire to bring new machine learning technics in the process.

Mission:

A NoC consists in a composition of logical blocks (RTL). Each of those has a "bench" (a software simulation platform). Those platforms are usually similar. We would like to implement a small framework that would enable bots’ creations and executions. Each bot would be responsible for a quality requirement scoring. Bots can rely on third-party tools or leverage AI. Quality requirements can be either code quality, execution time, the use of some components, ... Some example bots already exist (but are not yet used). There are two main goals: - understand our quality requirements and implement some of the bots accordingly. - automate the launches as well as the collecting, processing and presentation if their results/metrics.

Environment:

The internship is offered either in the Qualcomm France R&D NoC technology center in Sophia Antipolis (around 45 engineers) or in the Guyancourt’s office (around 50 engineers). The internship is proposed by the QITC tools and methodology team (8 people), mainly responsible for the design and verification flow of QITC. The intern may need to work with other teams.

Roadmap:

Initial Training:

o Acquire a good understanding of the existing technology and tools

o Getting familiar with our processes (automation, design and verification) •

Core Activity:

o Study state-of-the-art methods in similar or other industries to achieve our goals o Understand our quality requirements

o Implement some of the bots accordingly

o Automate the launches and collect, present the results/metrics

o Process the data to compute scores that reflects the bench quality

• Bonus:

o Integrate the metrics in our current web-platform (instead of text reports) for better presentation

Skills/Requirements:

Final year master’s degree in Microelectronics, Computer Science, or related field Python, C++, bash (and any you would need)

Fully proficient in French and proficient in English

Duration:

6 months.

Location:

Qualcomm France (1240 route des dolines, Sophia Antipolis or parc Ariane, Guyancourt)

Interest for the trainee:

The internship offers the opportunity to test and create new methods that will contribute to the global performance of QITC.

The internship is paid.
