Scope of Responsibility: 

The purpose of this position is to train/coach new and current employees to learn and enhance their skills. Under the direction of the Manager, provide training, guidance, and direction to assigned employees in an efficient, clean, safe, and cost-effective manner in order to achieve the goals, quality, and key performance metrics in line with the organization’s objectives.

 

Essential Duties:

Introduce new hires to the galvanizing process and responsibilities of each department.  Train new hires to be effective in their roles to include job specific, safety, quality, processes, housekeeping, and proper tool and equipment usage.Provide information and practice time for new hires to perform each skill according to safety and operational standards as outlined by Sabre.Translate both spoken word and written texts to the target language with superior accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, increasing the skill level of the team. Utilize training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when teaching new things.Train and assess employees’ competencies in the Skill-Based Pay process.Train new employees on safety and vehicle operations (crane, forklift, etc.)Contribute to and train new employees (new hire safety orientation)Communicate in a friendly, positive manner and always engage in active listening techniques to maximize effectiveness of interpretation.Ensure translated information conveys original meaning and tone.Proofread translated for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.Proofread, edit, and revise translated company materials.Compiles and reviews information for accuracy; maintains records.Identifying the developmental needs of new hires and coach them to improve their knowledge or skills.Ensure that a company has a workforce that can meet its current and future business objectives and deliver quality products and services that meet customers’ needs.Support production with their goals if not actively training new hires.Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements,Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task. Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs, and effectiveness of work.Enforce established housekeeping standards.Regular and on-time attendanceWork in your shift as scheduled.Must work well with others.
Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.

 

Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred

Experience:

Bilingual in Spanish/English required.
Experience using forklifts and cranes preferred.1+ years of Galvanizing experience highly preferredPrior training or leadership experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred

 

Skills & Abilities:

Ability to maintain a positive & motivational attitude.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.Ability to plan, organize, pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish.Ability to work well with people in a number of positions.Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs, and effectiveness of work.Knowledge of general safety guidelines and Sabre’s quality expectations and application in the workplace.Flexibility to shift back and forth between 2 or more activities.

 

Physical Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office as needed.Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands, and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office Ability to pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.The worker may be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
