Garage Manager - Fleet maintenance

Summary

As a Perdue Garage Manager, you will use your excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills to engage technicians and maintain good morale among your team. Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling, and auditing of vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repairs. You will be involved in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce is able to meet customer expectations.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manages assigned garage staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department. Monitor associate work levels Prioritize and assign work to meet customers’ needs Coach and mentor technicians Facility management, assuring a clean, safe, OSHA compliant working environment Control repair, inventory, and labor costs Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of Perdue’s assets in accordance with customer requirements, OEM specifications and DOT regulations. Manages the department operations to established operating budgets.

 

Education and Experience

REQUIRED: 

 

High School Graduate or GED Valid Driver’s License required. 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management or a minimum of 3 years managing teams in an environment with strong operational performance metrics. Understanding of mechanical processes. The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Perdue safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice. Understanding of standard software applications. Strong math, communication, analytical and organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills. Strong customer service and organizational skills required.

 

PREFERRED:   

 

BS Degree preferred (Management) Class A CDL Mechanical experience Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the garage facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 50'), carrying tools and equipment (0-100 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).   Must be able to wear protective equipment.
