Education and training equivalent to graduation from high school or vocational school, supplemented by a one\-year trade school course are required\. Preference will be given to individuals who are qualified to hold a Commercial Driver's License \(CDL\)\. This is a shift position with the majority of the work to be performed on the **night \(2nd\) shift\. Monday \- Friday, 3:00 p\.m\. \- 11:00 p\.m\.** The individual will be required to work emergency and plan over time to support the 24/7 nature of the utility business\. **POSITION DESCRIPTION:** Under general supervision, individual performs various kinds of skilled and unskilled workers in connection with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of automotive and mobile or stationary, heavy\-duty equipment, including any associated components and equipment\. Must have a working knowledge of the operation and construction of internal combustion engines and hydraulic assemblies\. Must have the ability to diagnose operating deficiencies of automotive and hydraulic equipment and the mechanical ability to install new and maintain equipment for all types of work\-related to the Transportation Department\. Will perform duties indoors and outdoors, at times under adverse weather conditions and for extended periods\.
