Garment Cutter - Full Time, Walt Disney World

Job Summary: We are looking for Garment Cutters! Have you ever dreamed of being a Garment Cutter at Walt Disney World? Garment Cutters support the Costuming Production Workroom for Disney Live Entertainment! You will help create costumes using fabrics and patterns for our shows, parades, and Character Meet and Greets. This role uses computer-controlled machines to cut materials while contributing to costume documentation.
You will report to the Costuming Manager.
The pay rate for this role in Florida is $18.25 per hour.

As a part of the consideration process for this position, there will be a 5-hour in-person assessment. Responsibilities: Connect with Leadership and other Costuming partnersAccurately and safely use hand-cutting equipmentUse standard fabric knowledge and garment industry knowledge for basic garment cuttingLay out and cut garment pieces using appropriate tools and techniquesAccurately use pressing (i.e. irons) and fusing equipmentRead, understand, and interpret directions on the bundling checklist, marker, marker cover sheet, and swatch cardFill out written documentation on fabric usageOperate electronic cutting table with directionVerify orders from the Cut Room and quality check for Cut/Bundle KitCross-reference the bundle against the checklist in the tech pack and add notions/CCI itemsPrioritize cut bundles for sew floorAssess the order for accuracy before startingAdditional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be requiredHandle cleaning chemicals and supplies Basic Qualifications: Operate basic computer systemsExperience with Excel and WordProficient verbal and written communication for documentation and safety purposesKnowledge of cutting techniques, tools, and terminologyPhysical role requiring repetitive movement such as heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, grasping, clutching, prolonged standing, and kneelingMinimal climbing of step stools/small laddersBe able to work with or around costumes made of natural or synthetic materials such as fur, foam, latex, or mylarComfortable with working at varying heightsPush or pull up to 46 lbs.Lift up to 50 lbs.Team lift with 2 Cast Members maximum of 85 lbs.Full-Time roles require full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in garment constructionExperience using large computerized cutting machinesExperience with plotters, digitizers, digital drawing tablets, and handheld 3D scanners Additional Information: SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION
