Job Summary:

An aircraft mechanic maintains the engines of aircrafts to meet FAA standards. This job involves tasks such as performing routine checks and repairs, keeping records of inventory, and identifying faults with components of the plane.

this is a 2nd shift M-Fri

Key Responsibilities:

Engine disassembly/assembly - Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine modules and accessories.Clean - Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable.  Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path.Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalentU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

A&P License or two years aviation, aerospace and/or previous mechanical experience.  Turbine engine overhaul, and repair experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Assembly.Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.Must have completed ACE Basics and have created an ACE profile (internal candidates). Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteFAA Safety Sensitive PositionSAP familiarity (Preferred)

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Pratt & Whitney Columbus GA is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
