Gatehouse Attendant

Job Overview:

As a Gatehouse Attendant, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional support to residents of a large community development in the Chicago suburbs. The gatehouse team provides support twenty-four hours a day to all residents.

This opportunity is available at a property in Hinsdale, Illinois.

 

Your Responsibilities:

Monitor property entrance and authorize entrance of people and vehicles. Notify residents of visitors entering the property. Report any suspicious behaviors and happenings as directed by the Property Manager. Such reporting should be communicated either to the Property Manager or local police, as necessary, by calling 911.  Monitor surveillance cameras across the community. Respond to emergency notices and react in a timely manner by calling the local authorities.  Provide assistance to people in need by offering directions and providing exceptional customer service.  Receive after-hours emergency calls that should be redirected to the Property Manager or the maintenance team, where appropriate, for further escalation.  Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.  Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work. 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years’ previous experience as a Gatehouse Attendant or similar role. Ability to engage law enforcement, when necessary, to promote public safety. Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.  Must possess a high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time. Superior oral and written communication skills. Ability to report on-site for a set schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
