Gauge and Calibration Technician

Reads and interprets blueprints, charts and schematics. Computes and verifies dimensions of machined parts or tooling. Follows safety protocol. Tests moving parts and mechanical functions. Maintains inspection records. Reports deviations from specifications to supervisors.

Setup gages to support Production needs.Maintain the Calibration System per all customer and regulatory requirements.Service crib window, receive and dispense supplies and tools as required to operations personnel.Verify needs and requisition supplies and materials to maintain proper inventory levels.Verify stock received to order, label with USM part number and stock to shelves.Maintain inventories of manufacturing supplies kept outside the crib area such as weld wire.Visually inspect tools, gages and fixtures returned to the crib by plant personnel to verify usefulness
before restocking. Tag and requisition details for repair or formal inspection if necessary.Clean and inspect components of pre-set tools returned to the crib.Replace with components, if necessary, tag for disposition details in question.Prepare periodic inventory and maintain perpetual inventories of tooling and holders.Mark and identify tools and equipment as required.Perform entries into the company computer system for withdrawals and receipts.Maintain tool supplies to operations.Prepare tools/tooling for outsource or in-house repair or grind.Maintain tooling pre-set call out sheets. Notify engineering of change required by using the Dimension Change Request form.Deliver gage set-ups to designated areas.Identify and prepare incoming gages for inspection.Maintain security of crib at all times.Maintain the crib area in a clean, neat and organized manner.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
