Financing Group Coverage Banking sits within a dynamic, market-driven environment, our teams work closely with corporate clients, pension funds, financial sponsors and governments to structure and execute some of the largest and most complex financing and risk management solutions across the full product spectrum, including equity, debt and derivatives. To achieve this goal, the Financing Group comprises all Goldman Sachs’ capital markets departments, and operates on close cooperation with other areas of Investment Banking and other divisions within the firm, including Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities and Equities. Teams are organized by product group including Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Investment Grade, Structured Finance, Corporate Derivatives, Public Sector & Infrastructure and Emerging Markets. 

 

OUR IMPACT 

Corporate Derivatives works with companies to optimize our clients’ capital structures through risk mitigation and structured hedging solutions. The group helps Investment Banking clients manage their risks by developing customized hedging strategies for interest rates, foreign exchange, and commodities. The team combines work in a traditional investment banking setting with elements of more market oriented / faster pace markets or asset management roles. The group maintains an entrepreneurial mindset and a flat organizational structure, allowing for meaningful responsibility and ownership at junior levels. 

The group supports Investment Banking public and private sector clients (corporations, financial institutions, and sponsors) to reduce their exposure to macroeconomic risks as well as holistically optimize their capital structures. Through customized hedging solutions, the group helps clients in managing their exposure to volatility in various macroeconomic factors, such as interest rates, foreign exchange, commodity, and credit spreads. In addition, the group develops innovative capital markets-based solutions to aid clients in optimizing their capital. 

 

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL 

Corporate Derivatives junior bankers can expect to receive a tremendous amount of responsibility early in their career with the opportunity to take on client-facing roles quickly. The team has a flat organizational structure and allows for high interaction with senior bankers and direct interaction with clients. From executing market risk transactions for companies with traders, to providing market updates and other client services, your responsibilities to be will increase rapidly. Besides being client-facing responsibilities and focused on the markets, junior bankers coordinate internally with credit, legal, and operations counterparts daily.  

 

SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

Undergraduate Degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting / Mathematics / Quantitative related discipline is preferable 1-3 years of interest rate derivatives sales experienceExperience with modelling and financial statements analysis Strong analytical and quantitative skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines Ability to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
