GBR Tank Turnaround Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary: The Galveston Bay Refinery is seeking a Tank Turnaround Maintenance Coordinator. The Maintenance Coordinator position serves in the Tank Turnaround Department at GBR and reports to the Tank Turnaround Supervisor within the Planning Organization - RM Support Services and Maintenance Programs Team. The GBR Tank Turnaround Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the field execution of all Capitol /Major maintenance in a safe, high quality and productive manner. This includes participating in or leading all safety meetings that are conducted by both Contractors and MPC. The GBR Tank Turnaround Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the efficient utilization of all contractors assigned to the Tank Turnaround Team and will ensure that Contractors adhere to all applicable codes and standards. This includes schedule and budget compliance and making sure contract employees are being fully utilized. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for communicating with Operations and other internal departments as to the work scope that will be performed. Key Responsibilities: + Safety – ensure work force follows site safety practices and policies + Key role is to coordinate the entire tank project and remove barriers to stay on schedule and achieve project on or ahead of budget expectations + Lead the development of the “Plan of the Plan” for the assigned tank project + Develop and manage the hiring plan for assigned tank project to the baselined plan + Develop and manage the rental equipment plan for assigned tank project to the baselined plan + Review and acknowledge all RER’s and CSM’s for assigned tank project + Align with tank scheduler and contractor to finalize baselined schedule + Capture any schedule deviations on the control estimate change log and align with Cost Supervisor on cost and schedule impact + Immediately address all safety related issues as discovered either by audit or self-discovery + Spend 80% of their time in the field checking for permitting issues, making sure all manpower is accounted for and keeping the job progressing per the plan. + Making sure that JSA’s/JJSV as well as the SLAM technique are being strictly followed by all people that are performing work. + Communicating to the Maintenance Superintendent if any there are discrepancies or additions to manpower. + Review all plans and drawings with the Planner, Inspection, and/or Engineer during the design phase to insure constructability of the project. + Work closely with the Planner/Scheduler on the field planning to determine accurate durations during the schedule development phase of the project. + Accurately provide updates to the Maintenance Superintendent as well as the Planner/Scheduler per the maintenance requirements. + Review the scope of work with the Planner, Inspection, and Engineer to have a complete understanding of the entire job. + Approve contractor time in Track daily and ensure all work orders are being correctly charged prior to approving. + Participate in, and some instances lead daily or weekly audits and inspections of the jobsite. + Manage all rental equipment associated with the assigned project to ensure it is rented when needed and returned as soon as possible at the completion of the work. + Perform and required actions in KMS and keep all Passport learning modules up to date. Education and Experience: + High School Diploma or equivalent is required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date) + Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP + Ability to read and understand a Primavera schedule and earned value reports + Ability to read piping ISO’s and P&ID’s + Knowledge of piping installation process + General understanding of welding practices and procedures + Working knowledge of MPC Standards and ASME codes + A valid driver's license is required.
