Description
An Engineer Intern/Co-op role is an educational opportunity for an Engineering student to work alongside senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical and/or electrical components and solutions for the Gradient Coils utilized in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This role will be responsible for individual and team assignments and will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, manufacture and service complex MRI systems and components throughout all phases of the product development life cycle. Activities may include detailed mechanical, electrical, structural, and/or thermodynamic design of sub-systems and components related to MRI components, including analysis, simulation, documentation, prototyping, testing, verification, and integration of hardware.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and analysis of gradient coils and other sub-components used in MRI systems. Perform thermodynamic and heat transfer analysis, including determination of heat loads, heat budgets and test verification. Thermal & Structural design Verification and Validation of mechanical design, including supporting engineering builds and testing Reliability analysis of components and systems Failure analysis of mechanical components Development of service tools to support maintenance & safety of gradients.Preparation/presentation of design analysis reports and part/assembly drawing reviewsSupport Manufacturing and Lean initiativesQualifications/Requirements
