Gender Justice Intern-ICSP

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

The Role:

Oxfam in Zambia and its partners through Oxfam Ireland are implementing the Ireland’s Civil Society Partnership (ICSP) in Zambia, for A Better World 2023-2027. the project is aimed at ‘Improving Socio-Economic Status for Women, Youths, and Marginalized Groups’.  The project is being implemented in Mongu, Kaoma, Namwala, Gwembe districts of Zambia, the project is targeted to reach 15,600 people directly from vulnerable households including female, child and elderly headed households.

Therefore, the Gender Justice pillar seeks to recruit an intern who will support the pillar in coordinating the implementation of activities under the ICSP programme. The duration for the internship programme is 6 Months (Starting March -August 2025).

What we are looking for: 

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

The intern must have a minimum of Diploma in Social Work, Gender, Education, or any other social sciences. Must have at least 2-3 years of work experience or internship programme in a Non-government Organisation. Must be available to start immediately after being offered the internship opportunity.

Key Roles and responsibilities of the intern

Support the Gender Justice Pillar in executing ICSP programme activities. Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth programme operations. Assist in the development of project plans, objectives, and timelines. Monitor programme progress against established milestones and deliverables. Maintain accurate and up-to-date programme documentation, including project files, records, and reports. Prepare regular activity reports, status updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation of Project documents especially partner reports and activity reports Assist with budget requests for various activities under the Gender Justice Pillar. Support in facilitating effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and partners. Assist in organising and coordinating meetings, workshops, and other programme-related events.

Other skills and competencies

Able to write basic reports such as activity reports. Good facilitation skills and ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders. We offer:
