Summary Description:
This position is responsible delegating duties to direct reports. Maintains regulations and laws of accounting procedures, carries out financial auditing procedures and in charge of SOX Testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess accuracy of accounting data, fielding questions directed at accounts payable and receivable, keeping track of records and processing transfers.Develop and maintain through knowledge and understanding of accounting policies, financial systems, transaction processes, internal controls and chart of accounts.Work directly with control and process owners to ensure understanding and knowledge of SOX processes and procedures.Assess the adequacy of SOX internal controls and efficiencies in business processes.Build strong relationships with SOX control and process owner’s, IT SOX internal control team, internal audit, external auditors, internal control team and compliance department.Prepare and review audit work papers for external auditors.Participate in creating and implementing internal controls and monitoring accounting processes.Be an active employee in finding continuous improvements, cost reductions or eliminating non-value-added tasks to streamline processes.Other duties as assigned.
