WPEC CBS 12 in beautiful West Palm Beach, Florida has two openings for a General Assignment Reporter ready to take that next career step. We are looking for a morning Reporter and a dayside Treasure Coast Reporter. We are looking for team players who come to work excited about finding a great story to tell or digging up a new angle on topics we're focusing on.  Someone who understands the News has to be where the audience is and is dedicated to growing their fluency in current and emerging digital/social platforms. The Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches have a lot to offer whether you're chasing news or off the clock. And the South Florida winter is just about perfect. 

The Successful Candidate: Engaged and aware of the major local and national news events of the day as well as important ongoing stories and narratives. Brings A-block ideas to the table every day and knows how to recognize and eagerly pursue newsworthy stories. Compelling storyteller, curious about the world and able to bring clarity and foster understanding across all platforms. Committed to journalistic integrity and objectivity. Team player with a positive attitude. Robust, disciplined social media presence. Understands and accepts the demands and requirements of working in news.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Good communication and problem-solving skills.  Ability to complete assignments on deadline. Minimum of two years (2) on-air reporting for a commercial outlet. Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, late nights and early mornings. Bachelor's Degree; Major in Journalism or similar preferred. Proficiency with iNews, Avid, Storyline and similar newsroom systems a plus.
