Job DescriptionProduction Control Clerk
GDIT is seeking a General Clerk III to support the Information Management Communication Services Program at Fort Novosel. AL. Provide support for customer telephone/data requirements. Includes responding to service requests and isolation and repair of telephone troubles. Process service orders for all approved moves, adds, and changes requirements.
How a General Clerk III will make an impact:
Process service orders (program telephone switch, update assignments, extend service to customer) and Trouble Tickets (test, troubleshoot and repair) for all approved moves, add, and changes requirements.Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for obtaining digging permits and environmental clearances prior to doing any digging on the post. Maintain file copies of all completed digging permits.Use the enterprise system of record to record the receipt of all work requests/trouble tickets. Process requests for all add, moves and/or changes requirements.Maintain an electronic file of all completed work requests, trouble tickets, photos, network diagrams, and redline drawings for the life of the task order.Maintain records of all adds/deletes/removes of cabling and subsequently update all records associated with NEC assets and infrastructureE911 Documentation. Complete all change requests and trouble tickets in the Telephone Management System (TMS).Maintain the TMS database, identifying physical location and status of the telephone lines for Emergency 911 (E911) response purposes.Arrange in‐warehouse transfers and synchronize schedules with the Government to ensure material availability in a timely manner.Examine materiel deliveries to verify correctness of orders and prepare documentation for entry into Government supply system.Maintain manual and/or computerized central office records, including detail records, cable records, line records, subscriber service recordsWhat you’ll need to succeed:
Secret clearance Associate degree or equivalent experience2-4 years of experienceKnowledge of the Telephone Management System (NETPLUS) to track materials used, work hours, and completion dates. Document and record all add, moves and/or changes.Knowledge of the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS)Knowledge of DD Form 1348-1 (Issue Release/Receipt Document) for turn-in of all broken or obsolete parts and equipment and used/damaged cable or fiber.Working knowledge of the Army Enterprise Service Managed Platform (AESMP)Ability to effectively categorize work order requests as either routine or emergency/priority, as defined by the current Army Information Technology Portfolio (AITP) Service List.Computer literacy and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently.Ability to interface with a variety of personalities and rank and file employees.Demonstrated leadership skills and able to work in a group or alone.Knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
