The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a cybersecurity test engineer in the squadron with responsibility to perform test and evaluation of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), space systems, and/or Aircraft and Munitions weapons systems and subsystems. Responsibilities Serves as the cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency test and evaluation cyber test lead, test manager, and/or tester in one or more of the following mission areas: C5ISR, Space, and/or Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems and Subsystems. Performs a broad range of program/project management functions for C5ISR and weapons systems test planning, documenting test methodologies and directives and evaluating the effectiveness of advanced C5ISR and weapons systems related equipment, resources, and force structures. Provides technical guidance, advisory support, resource management, and assistance on an entire test project and/or major phases for broad and varied operations. Represents the organization with a variety of installation, functional area organizations, and other DOD agencies across the AF. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is knowledge and mastery of scientific and analytical techniques, advanced scientific concepts, principles, practices, standards, and methods to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods. . NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR 0801, 0854, OR 0855: A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. Related curriculum OR BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR 1515: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. OR BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR 1550: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices required to support one or more of the following mission areas: C5ISR, Space, and/or Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems, and subsystems test and evaluation (T&E). This position requires the attainment of a cybersecurity certification (i.e., Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification or equivalent). A diverse background of experience and knowledge in one or more of the following mission areas: systems acquisition process, network/system development and integration, cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency T&E, and the system engineering processes. Knowledge to test and evaluate complex programs to ensure system cybersecurity requirements, interfaces, test capabilities, and program factors are considered in planning, monitoring, and reviewing the system artifacts, the system engineering documents, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) system security plans as part of the acquisition process. Experience in and the successful test execution of one or more of the following mission areas: cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency T&E of C5ISR systems, Space systems, Aircraft & Munition Weapon systems, and subsystems in an operational environment. Ability to lead test teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and support the execution of test projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures, and other engineering disciplines. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
