Canvas is looking for an Intermediate Engineer to join our team! In this role you will provide support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Military Construction, Planning, Programing and Execution / Facility Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) program.
What You'll Be Doing
MILCON Support Engineer/Analyst with extensive experience in DD 1391 processing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting military construction (MILCON) projects by preparing, reviewing, and managing DD Form 1391 and other planning documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of MILCON programming policies and procedures, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Understanding of Title 10 USC Sections applicable to facilities planning, programming, design and construction, budget development, long-range planning, and understanding of congressional requirements.
Prepare, review, and manage DD Form 1391 documentation for MILCON projects.
Ensure compliance with MILCON programming policies and procedures.
Support real property FSRM (Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization) projects for execution based upon recommendations from Working Group and Agency mission proponents
Maintain files including funding, work classification, project progress, and closeout documentation (DD form 1354) for all locations.
Participate in site specific activities including Integration meetings, Integrated Priority List reviews, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) support discussions on weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure accurate documentation.
Understanding of DD Form 1391 format to prepare, submit, review, certify, and archive forms.
Develop briefings and recommendations for chain of command in support of government customers
Manage and support facility panel submissions for Agency Programs in development of future years facilities program funding requirements
Evaluation of requirements for major repairs or replacement of facility components expected to occur periodically throughout the life cycle of facilities
Required Experience & Skills :
BA/BS degree in Engineering, from an ABET accredited university, with 7 years of relevant experience.
+ An ME or MS degree in engineering plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement. A BS degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license plus five years of relevant engineering experience may be substituted for the seven years of relevant engineering experience requirement.
Understanding of DoD Con struction / Repair Work Classification
Ability to operate independently and lead various working groups in support of facility and real property projects
Knowledge of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation funding; Operations and Maintenance; and Unspecified Minor and Major Military Construction funding and threshold application
Understanding/experience supporting major command sustainment to include maintenance and repair activities necessary to keep an inventory of facilities in good working order.
Evaluation of requirements for major repairs or replacement of facility components expected to occur periodically throughout the life cycle of facilities
Experience supporting restoration projects to include repair or replacement work to restore facilities damaged by inadequate sustainment, excessive age, natural disaster, fire, accident, or other causes
Experience supporting modernization projects to include the alteration or replacement of facilities solely to implement new or higher standards, to accommodate new functions, or to replace building components
Experience supporting recapitalization/ major renovation or reconstruction activities (including facility replacements) needed to keep existing facilities modern and relevant in an environment of changing standards and missions
Ability to lead/coordinate with stakeholders during weekly working group managing the agency's Facilities Program
Required software knowledge includes Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
Desired Experience

+ Knowledge and understanding DD Form 1391 Military Construction Project Data Form
+ Ability to review A/E plans, specifications and designs as needed for various facility/real property related projects.
