General Foreperson
Previous General Foreperson Experience Required  Position Summary The General Foreperson provides hands-on leadership and is responsible for scheduling, planning, coordinating, and supervising tree crews. This position is also responsible for assisting in cost control, ensuring workplace safety, and consistent and fair application of all company employment policies. The General Foreperson is a first-line manager and key customer interface.    Duties and Responsibilities Include Essential Duties: Safety and Training Understands equipment operations, work processes, and safety procedures for employee training Identifies needs for employee training and ensures training is completed and up to date Maintains adherence to company safety policies, standards, and good practices Ensures completion of safety and hazard assessments and establishes work zones and traffic control Conducts safety and other informational or educational meetings  Participates in incident investigations Ensures timely responses, actions, and corrections to safety issues   Planning and Scheduling Reads and understands charts, orders, schedules, contracts, drawings, and other records Plan and establish work schedules (including required overtime), assignments, and sequences Arranges for notification and permission to complete work Recommends additions and releasing of personnel as required to maintain the schedule   Supplies, Vehicles, and Equipment Inventories and obtains supplies, materials, and equipment in compliance with company policies Inspects vehicles, machinery, equipment, and tools Communicates repairs to the supervisor and corporate office and ensures repairs are completed   Quality Control Oversees execution of work by employees and ensures work meets specifications Communicates with serviced customers to ensure customer satisfaction Evaluates and attends to customer errors, complaints, and concerns to provide resolution
  Human Resources and Supervision Interviews and hire employees in compliance with company guidelines and procedures Supervises the activities of assigned employees, assesses competency and capability Takes appropriate action and disciplinary Measures to deal with performance concerns Maintains positive employee relations with and between employees Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of employees
  Administration Keeps records of employment matters and reports to the supervisor on issues, progress, and delays Transmits all information and documentation to employees promptly Submits all documentation to the supervisor and corporate office in an accurate and timely manner
​ Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice   What You'll Bring to the Team Three (3) or more years of directly related experience Two (2) or more years of experience in a Group Lead/Supervisory role Knowledge of established industry hazards, standards, practices, procedures, and techniques Qualified to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record per Company policy Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities Attention to detail Organizational skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to problem solve Meet all physical requirements of the position Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required Legally authorized to work in the United States Preferred: CDL (Class B Minimum) Herbicide Applicator's License in one or more states Conversational knowledge of the Spanish language   Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
