Job DescriptionWHAT'S THE JOB?
The General Helper position is critical to the success of the culinary team. In a kitchen support role, the G.H. works a variety of shifts throughout the day and acts as the fuel that keeps the kitchen running smoothly. Kitchen support workers will complete various tasks throughout the day based on their shift schedule and time of day. General Helpers may work split shifts, night shifts, early mornings, and late nights, depending on the kitchen schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining a safe working environment at all timesFollowing all safety controls related to Covid including regular handwashing, proper use of PPE and enhanced cleaning/sanitation requirementsProviding excellent and consistent service for all guests using the KDR facilitiesMaintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the shiftCleaning and maintaining all areas within the KDR complex on a daily basis – lunchrooms, dining room, servery, ware wash area, main kitchen, and storage areasThis includes but is not limited to; cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, counters, tables, chairs, and equipmentIn addition, General Helpers may be assigned to perform routine cleaning and sanitation of high touchpoint areas and items as per required Covid protocolsRegular sweeping and mopping of all floors in the KDR, including walk-in coolers and storage areasStocking of all needed food, beverage and paper/disposable supplies as requiredDisposing of all garbage, cardboard and recyclables as requiredWare WashingRemoving all used flatware and cutlery to ware wash areaWashing of all items including dishes, cutlery, pots, etc.Returning all washed items to proper storage locationsCompleting all HACCP logs as requiredMonitoring that all products put out for service is correctly labelled, dated and rotatedCompleting all weekly and monthly cleaning tasks as scheduledAssisting in food production as requiredReceiving and storing all supplies (food, beverage, chemical and paper/disposable), as directed by production staffAssisting with any other tasks as assigned by supervisorPhysical Demands:
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.Climb ladders or stairs.Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.Work with arms above shoulder height.QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

General Helpers work on a rotational schedule of 4 weeks on/2 weeks off. Site locations are in remote settings, requiring either air travel to site, or via ground on our shuttle. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly basis with a starting rate of $19.00 per hour.
