JOB TITLE:                        GENERAL INTERNSHIP
WORK LOCATION:            BAKERSFIELD AREA
REPORTS TO:                   DEPARTMENT MANAGER

PURPOSE:
An internship at Grimmway Farms is meant to provide a current college student an opportunity to gain work related experience in their degree field of study. When applying for the general internship position, students’ applications will be reviewed and sorted to the season of interest. Internships are paid. Requests for college credit are supported.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job duties will be dependent on individual department needs. Work may require teamwork and independent work. Job duties will provide experience and opportunities to learn how to navigate in a professional organization, provide opportunity to build and leverage problem solving skills, apply educational knowledge, contribute to real business needs, and have an opportunity to develop soft skills in support of professional development. Travel may be required, depending on the department’s needs.

 

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITES AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
            FARMING:            Agronomy, Organics, Quality, Food Safety, Innovation.
            OPERATIONS:     Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Packaging, Purchasing, Transportation and
                                          Logistics, Construction and Engineering, Equipment Maintenance.
            SG&A:                   Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Human Resources, Safety, IT, Corporate Communication.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Varies by position and may include the ability to frequently move about inside the office, food processing facilities and/or farming fields. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Occasionally, must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to work outdoors. Must be able to work in different temperatures which range between 30° F and 110° F. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Must be able to work in a high noise area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship needed.Actively enrolled full-time college student- Full-time status is 12 or more credit hours.Successfully completed one full semester or two quarters and with at least one semester or quarter remaining prior to graduation will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience or relevant courses in area of interest.Ability to operate a computer.Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Benefits

STARTING WAGE:                                $17.50 - $21.50 (dependent on year in college)
