Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced General Lab Supervisor to oversee the Cancer Center Laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in chemistry and hematology, and demonstrate leadership abilities to manage the day-to-day operations of the lab.

ResponsibilitiesOversee 4 FTEs performing testing and quality assurance activities in the chemistry and hematology program.Ensure technical skill in point of care testing and clinical laboratory operations.Perform day-to-day supervision of the general lab, including troubleshooting, revising/updating policies, and scheduling.Read slides and perform emergency bench work if necessary.Essential SkillsNYS Clinical Technologist licenseBachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or a Master's degree with 2 years of clinical lab experienceExperience in chemistry and hematology1 or more years in a leadership/supervisory role preferred, but open to strong technologists looking to move into a leadership roleAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a medical technologist or core lab supervisorStrong organizational and communication skillsWork Environment

The position operates Monday to Friday, with daytime shifts from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. There are no night shifts or weekend work required. This role provides a competitive salary and a leadership opportunity in a clinical lab setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire. If your selections are not made on-line within the 30-day period, the Medical Center will assign benefits (default) coverage.
