Purely Driven. **Position Summary** Our Nestlé Purina factory in Dunkirk is strategically located along Lake Erie’s Historic Chadwick Bay Harbor, which is situated 50 miles southwest of Buffalo, New York. With miles of Great Lakes waterfront and beaches, ski resorts, vineyards and boutique wineries, our associates are proud to call Dunkirk a hidden gem. Since its opening in 1971, various expansions to the processing and warehousing towers have taken place to accommodate increasing production of great brands like Pro Plan®, Beggin®, T-Bonz®, and Busy®. In 2016, the facility accomplished “Zero Waste to Landfill” status meaning all discarded materials are directed to destinations that specialize in recovering the ecological and/or economic value of the material. As a part of Nestlé sustainability efforts, we’ve also decreased our water usage by 20% since 2012 and power our production using 65% renewable energy, a number that continues to increase. As a General Laborer, you are a true value and critical team member. You’ll train in several areas within the production environment so you can effectively provide support to your assigned position and ensure you can effectively be a part of our safety policies and procedures. Since we’re a safety-first culture, much of your responsibility will focus on ensuring top-notch maintenance and cleanliness around the equipment is completed. This is an excellent role to learn all about our company environment and procedures and is a great starting point for developing a long-term career with Nestlé Purina. + Ensure a clean and safe production environment including sanitation, sweeping, cleaning of machinery, and removal of trash and recycling. + Safely operate production equipment. + Complete quality checks and meet product specifications. + Provide support to operators in Packaging, Processing, and Warehouse departments. + Develop working knowledge of production equipment and operations + All other duties as assigned. **Requirements** + High School Diploma or GED equivalent **Other** + 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, industrial, military, or related environment preferred The approximate hourly pay for this position is $20.45 an hour.
