Position: General Laborer

Pay: $21.44/hr

With overtime, your average hourly rate will be $23.41

Shifts: 12 hour rotating shifts; 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am

This is how it works:

Work 4 days on night shift
Off for 2 days
Work 3 days on day shift
Off for 2 days
Work 3 days on night shift
Off for 2 days
Work 4 days on day shift
Off for 8 days
REPEAT
This is an average of 43 hours/week over a 4 week cycle.

While reporting to the Team Leader as the General Laborer, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture. You will perform tasks that are necessary to provide high quality, efficient, timely shipment of Sonoco products.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Package any rolls coming off the winderClean the machine room floor from fire door to fire doorPull broke from belt during a paper breakAssist in the tailing of the machine after a paper breakEmpty dumpsters in the machine roomAssist 6th hand when neededAny shutdown tasks requiredConduct forklift checklistBust all rolls and ribbons producedAny other tasks the Team Leader requests
