**General Laborer in York, PA!** **First Shift Opportunity!** **Pay rate: $21/hr.** **Job Description** We are seeking a General Laborer to work at our concrete plant located in York Haven, PA. This is an entry-level position requiring the ability to lift 50 lbs or more on a regular basis. The shift is from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. **Responsibilities** + Break down molds of concrete pieces that have cured overnight + Pull out 'green concrete' from the molds and clean out the molds, scrape out excess concrete, and prepare the forms for the next pour + Operate saws and other hand tools + Prepare molds and set in re-bar with spacers + Cleanup work area by sweeping and shoveling concrete scraps + Assist in smoothing poured concrete in the second part of the day to cure overnight **Essential Skills** + Previous **construction experience or experience in a heavy manufacturing setting, carpentry experience** + Basic math skills and ability to convert measurements + Experience with hand and power tools + Ability to use a tape measure with 1/16" measurement accuracy + Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.+ regularly throughout the workday **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Direct experience with concrete manufacturing, preferably pre-cast and/or rebar **Why Work Here?** We are a family-owned business offering full-time employment with health and retirement benefits, including 401K options. There are many specialty areas where you can earn promotions and pay raises. **Work Environment** The main facility, located at the Newberry/Lewisberry Plant in York Haven, PA, has high ceilings (30 to 40 ft) and is heated during the winter to around 67 degrees. The facility is not air-conditioned in the summer, but overhead doors are opened to allow a breeze. The environment involves concrete dust and machinery. No hearing protection is required, and the radio is played throughout the plant. The facility is split into two sections, allowing overhead cranes and large forklifts to move through.
