Job Title: Traveling Laborer (Per diem Offered)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing construction sites for the installation of erosion control projects. This role involves using hand tools, raking and preparing soil, and assisting with the application of concrete mats. The candidate must be able to read plans and follow instructions from the superintendent.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare construction sites for installation of erosion control projects.Use hand tools, rake, and prepare soil for the application of concrete mats.Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks.Read plans and follow instructions from the superintendent.Work long hours during the week, including weekends when necessary.Travel extensively, with the only expected home visits being for Thanksgiving and Christmas.Work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.Essential SkillsExperience in construction and general labor.Proficiency with hand tools and shovels.Willingness to travel extensively.Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions.Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to juggle competing priorities and multi-task.Demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability, and commitment.Commitment to continuous improvement and achieving goals beyond expectations.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, shine, heat, and cold. The laborer will be part of a crew consisting of a superintendent, an operator/foreman, and 2-4 laborers. The candidate must be receptive to extreme temperatures and willing to work long hours, including weekends. Travel is required, and accommodations will include sharing a hotel room with another laborer. Transportation to job sites will be provided either by riding with an employee or flying to the respective city.

This is a Contract to Hire that work will be located all over the United States.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00
