General Laborer
L.L. Pelling Company, Inc.
We're hiring general laborers for our line striping division (https://www.llpelling.com/services/parking-lot-striping-ada-compliance) . We're offering year-round benefits and $20-$22 an hour.
Responsibilities:
+ Perform manual labor that requires walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting.
+ Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials, and transport tools to job sites.
+ Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
+ Clean and prepare surfaces where work will take place; measure and mark pavement.
+ Assist in setting up and tearing down traffic control devices.
+ Control traffic on job sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
+ Regular dependable attendance
+ Able to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
+ Able to work well as part of a team.
+ Able to read a tape measure.
+ Able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Education and Experience:
+ Valid driver's license with insurable driving record. CDL Class A or B preferred (starting pay would be significantly higher based on CDL & experience)
+ Be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
+ Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to perform manual tasks for long periods of time.
+ Must be able to safely work alongside moving construction equipment and open lanes of traffic in both day and night conditions.
+ Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
+ Must be able to stand, walk, sit, squat, kneel, bend, crouch, twist, reach, and climb.
Work Schedule:
Days and hours of work vary, including overnight and weekend work based on weather, project size, and location.
+ Must be available to work nights (instead of days) and weekends, as needed.
+ Available to work overtime.
