Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working General Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly and be comfortable working at heights. This role involves working in a team atmosphere and performing various duties including stacking and organizing steel plates, reading blueprints, utilizing a tape measure for general layout on structural steel assemblies, and operating a 4-1/2” grinder to remove rust and mill scale prior to the welding process. Training will be provided for forklift and overhead crane operation, and there may be opportunities to operate large CNC machines such as robotic welders, plasma tables, and brake presses.
ResponsibilitiesStack and organize steel plates.Read blueprints and utilize a tape measure for layout on structural steel assemblies.Operate a 4-1/2” grinder to remove rust and mill scale prior to welding.Support shop flow by managing all parts.Record and update parts tracking software via tablet.Pull parts and place them in bins based on the bill of materials.Move pulled part bins to the shop floor as directed.Ensure fitters have the necessary materials to fabricate assemblies.Receive and sort all cut-to-size plates.Coordinate machine shop processing of cut-to-size plates.Essential SkillsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.Comfortable working at heights.Manufacturing experience.Proficiency with hand tools.Experience in heavy lifting, inventory management, and operating overhead cranes and forklifts.Ability to assist welders with grinding, prep work, mag-based drilling, and parts gathering.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in maintenance skills.Ability to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing/fabrication shop. The work is conducted in a facility that operates on two shifts: Day Shift (5am-3pm, Monday to Thursday) and Swing Shift (3pm-1:30am, Monday to Thursday).
