The GL Accountant is a key contributor in the Finance organization who supports accounting operations and prepares other ad hoc analysis as required. They have a high propensity to take on new responsibilities in a rapid-growth environment to advance within the finance team. This position will be located in Menlo Park, CA with a hybrid model of 2 days a week onsite presence. **Responsibilities:** + Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing duties, including preparing journal entries, variance reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP + Prepare supporting documents for internal/external auditors + Apply a thorough understanding of GRAIL’s business to all aspects of the accounting function, including cash, prepaids, and accrued liabilities + Responsible for various accruals and reconciliations + Assist in maintaining regular contact and building solid working relationships with various groups to ensure a high level of customer service + Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiencies + Assist on project and ad hoc assignments as needed **Preferred Qualifications:** + At least 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally a public accounting and private industry mix + Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. + CPA desired + Experience with Netsuite and Coupa is preferred + Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required + Able to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment + Proficient in GAAP accounting, specifically in cash, prepaids, and accrued liabilities + Advanced Excel and Google Suite of products (Sheets, Docs) is a plus + Proven analytical and project management skills + Logical and critical thinking skills + Proven teamwork and collaboration skills + Experience in Life Science industries preferred The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $94k-$110K base. Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location. Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan.
