General Maintenance Technician

The General Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems to ensure optimal operation and safety. The role includes the inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems. - **HVAC Systems:** Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. - **Plumbing Systems:** Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and water supply. - **Fire Safety Systems:** Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire alarms, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems. - **Building Envelope:** Inspect and repair building exteriors and interiors, including roofs, walls, and windows. - **General Maintenance:** Perform basic carpentry, painting, and repair tasks. - **Preventative Maintenance:** Follow established schedules to perform preventative maintenance on all building systems. - **Emergency Repairs:** Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and issues. - **Safety Compliance:** Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and building codes. - **Record Keeping:** Ensure all maintenance reactive and preventative paperwork is complete and accurate. - **Customer Service:** Ensure response is professional and polite. all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and building codes. REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent. - Basic knowledge/awareness of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems. - Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and climbing. - Ability to read and understand simple blueprints. - Ability to use basic computer software programs such as e-mail and internet explorer. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** - Vocational training or certification in building maintenance or related field. - Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role. - Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS). - Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
