DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

You will be a part of a team that supports the safe, continuous daily operations by providing routine maintenance, inspections, alterations and repairs throughout the hospital.

Summary:
Perform regular Maintenance duties i.e. Clearing drains, hot and cold calls, light bulb replacement, repairs to door hardware, move furniture, machinery and mechanical equipment repairs, assist electrician, Lead Mechanic and other Maintenance Mechanics as needed. Be available to cover "on-call" duties as part of a rotation with other Maintenance Staff. Be able to understand blue prints and mechanical drawings. Process paper work to document work performed and order materials to perform tasks. The candidate must also have carpentry skills, be able to use carpentry power and hand tools, light wall construction, mount doors/frames, construct and hang cabinets, work with a variety of wood types, work with Formica counters and cabinets. Be able to meet requirements, duties and responsibilities listed on job description which will be provided at the time of interview

Qualifications:

• Equivalent to 4 years of High School vocational training in a Painter Training Program.

Work Experience:

• Must have a good knowledge of the painting trade and be mechanically inclined.

• Work Experience: Must have experience in painting, basic electricity, plumbing, and carpentry. 

• Must be familiar with the use of most small power tools. 

• Three years experience in plant operations preferably in a health care setting.
