Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Fixed Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent performs maintenance on a variety of machinery and structures throughout company owned housing. 

Job Responsibilities

1.    Able to operate lawn mowers and weed eaters.
2.    Lifting and loading weights up to 50 lbs.
3.    Practice safety at all times. 
4.    Operate power paint sprayer.
5.    Responsible to manage the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
6.    Perform routine maintenance and repairs on structures.
7.    Inspect housing to identify necessary repairs or maintenance. Assist in the construction of improvements to existing buildings.
8.    Carry out repairs, upgrades, or replacements of appliances and infrastructure as needed.
9.    Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, ensuring they are safe and operational.
10.    Maintain clean and safe working conditions, following all health and safety regulations.
11.    Collaborate with maintenance members to meet project deadlines.
12.    Perform tasks like painting, drywall repair, plumbing, flooring replacement, roof maintenance, and more.
13.    Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about the progress and completion of tasks.
14.    Respond to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly.
15.    Monitor stock levels of materials and supplies required for ongoing projects 
 

Skills

1.    Ability to perform basic carpentry and painting preferred

5.    Demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical inspections.

11.    Requires valid driver’s license.
