General Maintenance Worker

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Under general supervision performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not craftsman-level proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, mechanical and electrical work. May perform certain basic tasks either individually or as part of a work group or unit.

Work involves a variety of the following (representative or similar) duties:

Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors. Plasters or applies compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Prepares surfaces and paints structures and equipment. Repairs, patches or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks. Replaces damaged paneling, floor tiles or other floor covering materials. Hangs doors and installs door locks. Installs windows and may replace broken windowpanes. Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Uses hand trucks, carts or related apparatus to move or transport parts, equipment or materials. Performs other general maintenance duties as directed.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

The incumbent has above average knowledge and understanding of the use of hand tools, battery powered hand tools, and shop machinery. Displays a familiarity of the trades associated with site support, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, structural, carpentry and/or plumbing. Can perform standard physical labor and follow basic instruction as directed by higher-level maintenance workers as required. Perform various duties, at the general maintenance worker level, as assigned or requested. Candidate may be required to perform various duties, at the general maintenance worker level, such as but not limited to; material will call pickup, material retrieval from company warehouse, safety representative, TMDE monitor, alternate tool room monitor, alternate material monitor, section vehicle control monitor, section hazardous material monitor, and related duties as assigned or requested.  

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Must possess two or more years of experience performing a variety of maintenance trades tasks under work direction of maintenance trades specialists and/or an assigned supervisor. Incumbent must possess increased knowledge and skills from a basic trades helper level to the general worker level where ability to individually perform certain tasks are demonstrated. Must be capable of using a variety of hand tools and power tools in a safe manner. Must have sufficient communication skills to understand and respond to work direction. Incumbent must have a valid, current state-issued driver's license. Must qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.  

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $47,652 to $47,840 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The incumbent will perform in a shop or fieldwork site environment in which mechanical equipment operated is loud, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components. It requires routine lifting up to 50 pounds (anything heavier requires two people or mechanical assistance), regular handling, grasping, kneeling, carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
