The work requires a knowledge of techniques, methods, and procedures used in structural repairs which is acquired through training and job experience. Contacts require courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in dealing with others. The work is routine following established routines, instructions, and established procedures, but some variation in the sequence is permitted based on situations encountered. The work is patterned involving similar situations and generally requires only the choice of the correct procedure. The work is performed inside and outside where there are some risks and hazards, but they are controllable. Operates hand tools and motor vehicles. The physical demand consists of walking, standing, sitting, and bending, and includes exposure to dust, dirt, and other unpleasant conditions and moving or lifting equipment and tools. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: + The probationary period for this class is six months. + Depending upon assignment, must pass the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background screening performed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office prior to appointment. + Within 30 days of appointment date to classification, acquire and maintain the appropriate level of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification which corresponds to the job responsibilities.
