**Job Title:** **General Maintenance Worker (IDA)**
**Job Summary:** EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a **General Maintenance Worker (GMW) in Arlington, VA.** The GMW will perform general maintenance and repairs to facility equipment at the IDA sites in Arlington, VA & Washington DC.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
+ Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
+ Assist with maintenance of site equipment and building structure.
+ Assist with maintenance and repairs of the building systems on the site.
+ Assist with the troubleshooting of equipment on site.
+ Institute the corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job.
+ Monitor Subcontractors in their task.
+ Perform other tasks as directed by his Supervisor.
**Qualifications:**
+ Three (3) or more years experience in maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: Painting, Carpentry Plumbing, Masonry, Electrical work
+ Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications.
+ Be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of Building Facility and Structural Systems.
+ Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
**Physical Demands:**
+ Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs)
+ Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
+ Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and/or parts.
+ Manual dexterity and mobility.
+ Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
