General Maintenance Worker (Overnight Shift)

Who You Are:

We are seeking a General Maintenance Worker to work an overnight schedule performing general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work. 

What You’ll Do:

Handling basic repairs and maintenance such as:Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets, painting structures and equipmentRepairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalksReplacing damaged paneling and floor tilesHanging doors and installing and lubricating door locksReplacing broken windowpanesPerforming general maintenance on equipment and machineryConducting routine inspections of premises and equipmentPerforming preventative maintenanceOverseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessaryDiagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them

Excluded are: 

Craft workers included in a formal apprenticeship or progression  program based on training and experience; Skilled craft workers required to demonstrate proficiency in one  or more trades; Workers performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of a trade (e.g., changing light bulbs and replacing faucet washers).

What You’ll Bring:

Proven maintenance experienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Related degree from a technical collegeMust be available to work an overnight schedule from 7PM to 7:30AM. A shift differential will be added to your pay. Skilled in the use of hand and power toolsAbility to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective partsAbility to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessaryAbility to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenchesExperience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devicesExperience performing routine maintenanceStrong organizational and follow up skillsEye for detailProfessional presentation and attitudeAbility to maintain focus while working individuallyStrong time management skillsMust be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $28.22/hr + overnight shift differential
