General Manager, Consumer Sales

 

The General Manager, Consumer Sales is responsible for building and implementing strategic growth strategies and tactics for customers in our US retail tire & sevice channel. This position is accountable for leading a team and delivering results for volume, margin, sales revenue and mix.

 

This position is also responsible for establishing, educating and communicating financial budgets to every customer. The incumbent will monitor results versus potential, with a plan of action to maximize outcomes. The incumbent will also coordinate utilization of resources in the field and within the Akron organization to develop and support a positive distribution strategy in all markets.

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

Establish alignment and execution of a business plan strategy for all customers. Establish a meaningful and efficient budgeting process that will be communicated, understood and supported by the individual Account Managers and Sales Specialists. Manage sales growth and continuously improve EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes). Plan, organize and manage the successful integration of customers into all other channels of brand distribution. Responsible for personal growth and development of team members. Establish a succession plan and development process to continuously build capability (where needed) and fill vacancies created through upward mobility. Drive effective communication (up and down) of strategic initiatives, team performance and business results.

 

KEY EXPERIENCE

 

8 or more years of experience in Sales, Business Development and Customer Management across multiple channels and assignment in different disciplines. Experience working with retail customers, with a track record of driving growth and expansion of key accounts.  Driving exposure to other facets of the organization. Bachelors' degree is required, focus on Marketing, Sales or Business Administration is preffered. Desired: MBA degree in Marketing or Sales.

 

KEY SKILLS

 

Experience in selling and negotiation techniques. Team leadership and ability to motivate others. Excellent communication and listening skills; able to build trusted relationship with internal partners and external customers.
