Responsibilities

The Drybar Shop Manager is responsible for overall shop operations. This individual leads the internal and external client experience, upholds and enforces Drybar standards and policies, manages the day to day business and is fully responsible for the performance of the assigned shop. In addition, the Shop Manager is responsible for maintaining positive team morale and uses the company’s Heart & Soul to lead the shop’s culture.

 

Essential Job Functions

◆ Manage the shop and leadership team.
◆ Interview and select high quality candidates, ensuring candidates are a cultural fit and able to meet Drybar standards after thorough training.
◆ Take initiative to attract and recruit Stylists locally. Develop relationships with local beauty schools.
◆ Responsible for setting and meeting daily budget goals.
◆ Coach and provide feedback as necessary for all team members, ensuring Drybar standards are being met at all times (hair quality and customer experience). Assign additional training if needed.
◆ Maximize the shop’s financial potential. Understand and optimize your shop’s P&L.
◆ Provide vision for and lead from Drybar’s Heart & Soul.
◆ Identify and develop talent: Invest extra time in coaching high potential Stylists and Bartenders for future leadership roles in the organization.
◆ Maintain the overall visual shop appearance per brand standards.
◆ Inspire safety culture.
◆ Resolve team member relations and customer issues ensuring the company is protected against liability with a mindfulness of shop morale and culture. Follow all company policies and procedures. When in doubt, ask for help.

Labor Laws, Company Policies And Best Practices

As a Shop Manager, you are responsible for operating your shop in accordance with
labor laws and company policies.
◆ Read the Team Member Handbook and state supplement. The Handbook contains most information you need to know to ensure you follow both the law and company policy. It is important to read it thoroughly and learn the content within it. You can’t adequately enforce our policies or educate your team members if you don’t know the policies yourself

 

Company Communication

Our weekly company-wide communication, News You Can Use, is distributed on Tuesday mornings. Shop Managers must distribute this information to all team members. Read the New You Can Use thoroughly, it often contains important information that you need to implement new laws or policies in your shop, as well important information about new products or promotions.

 

Time Management

Your team members are mostly hourly employees, therefore you will be responsible for ensuring that all time worked is accurately accounted for and submitted properly to Payroll. This is one of the most important responsibilities as a Shop Manager - team member’s paychecks depend on it!

 

Time Off Requests

Operating Partner or leadership team confirms your time off request. Ensure the shop is completely covered before you take your much needed vacation.

 

Leading Training

Shop Manager, you will be responsible for hiring and overseeing training of all Bartenders and Shift Leads. You will also support the hiring of Stylists and performing any operational training to supplement their technical hair training

Qualifications

Manager Qualifications

Experience in management including but not limited to experience as a sales manager, operations manager, and/or general salon manager.Has excellent leadership skills; ability to lead a team in an organized and efficient way ensuring operations runs smoothly.Is widely trusted and seen as a direct, truthful individual. Ability to effectively lead and develop a team, creating a positive work environment, training and providing guidance on business and technical competency matters and resolving team member issues.Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities; reads situations quickly; good at focused listening; can hammer out tough arguments and settles disputes equitably.
