**General Manager** **Job Reference Number:** 22099 **Employment Type:** Full-Time **,** Onsite **Segment:** Dining & Events **Brand:** Constellation **State:** District of Columbia (US-DC) **The Role at a glance:** We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our team at the **Folger Shakespeare Library Café** in Washington, DC! The General Manager provides operational leadership, developing a cohesive team of managers, chefs and staff who are working towards the common goal, to create a cost-effective operation, exceeding guest expectations through exceptional service, and high-quality food and beverage in a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The GM cultivates a team atmosphere that is fun, engaging, educational and professional. The GM is responsible for all aspects of the operation, specifically sales, profitability and the development of people. Additionally, the GM is responsible for maintaining client relations and acts as the lead liaison to our clients. Compensation: $85,000 plus Bonus **What you'll be doing:** • Ensure a superior experience for all guests. Consistently identifies, implements, and reinforces operational standards, procedures, and systems to ensure overall guest and client satisfaction. • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a strong marketing strategy in line with the unit’s brand and vision. • Recruit, hire, train and manage staffing across all levels and positions, maintaining appropriate staffing levels at all times. • Establish and maintain SOPs. • Lead pre-shift and weekly departmental meetings. • Keep employee files current and complete annual performance reviews for all staff. • Evaluate financial performance and strategize for continued unit and company growth. • Ensure the operation meets and exceeds budgeted financial goals. • Ensures the ongoing maintenance and performance of the company’s assets. • Supports and monitors financial reporting and budgeting process. Consistently monitors and controls company assets, including all beverage, FFE (furniture, fixtures, equipment) and cash. • Ensures the adequate security of all company human and financial capital and assets. • Effectively resolves company challenges and issues. • Liase daily with clients • Daily walk through of the operation to determine areas which need attention or repair. • Performs Quarterly Client Reviews with the client, outlining our financial and operational results. Interpersonal Effectiveness • Ensures the highest level of integrity and accountability in all business dealings; serves as a role model for excellence. Follows through on all commitments. • Makes personal development a priority, constantly seeking new ways to grow as a leader.
