POSITION SUMMARY: 

The General Manager oversees, plans, and manages the day-to-day operations of their property. They are responsible for managing all on-site compliance activities and for the overall performance of the portfolio, which includes direct oversight of the marketing program and financial performance. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Developing key performance goals and managing the performance of staff.  Creating and implementing strategies for business growth.  Hiring new staff within a department or business unit.  Ensuring that departments or units deliver quality offerings to clients.  Working closely with asset managers, regional manager, and other senior staff to retain clients.  Developing innovative solutions to meet client needs.  Improving internal processes for better productivity. Overseeing large projects and interpreting performance reports.  Managing the budget and monitoring the financial health of a location or business unit. Keen on strategic thinking and planning.  Understanding of budget management and financial monitoring. Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training and mentorship. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening. Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.  Good organization and time management. Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment. In-depth knowledge of their industry.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Three (3) years management experience including supervising a team at large property.  Bachelor's degree preferred.  Flexible, outgoing, authentic, and confident personality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Entrepreneurial spirit.  Promoting opportunities in the company and assisting in building the team.  Yardi experience preferred.  Able to effectively communicate with a range of people and personalities.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Demonstrated ability to build relationships with staff members and the community.  Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.  Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems. When a problem occurs, define those problems, investigate obstacles, gather relevant information, decide whether solving the problem should be a group decision, generate and analyze alternate solutions and arrive at a workable solution.  Prioritizes tasks and manages time to ensure that deadlines are met. Achieves results within established timelines. Recognizes opportunities and initiates actions to capitalize on them. Look for new and productive ways to make an impact.
