General Manager

Job Description:

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitability for one RaceTrac store and leading up to 45 employees. You will continually deliver on RaceTrac’s mission of making people’s lives simpler and more enjoyable through a focus on friendly service, food execution, cleanliness, building talent, and driving success.

Responsibilities:

Friendly\nEstablish an environment of prompt, efficient, and courteous service and effectively engage in conflict management\nLead and direct positive and professional relationships with co-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors\nCommunicate respectfully and maintain a consistent team-oriented attitude and store culture\nManage and mitigate any reported guest concerns on designated shifts with a sense of urgency and involve appropriate regional team members as needed\nEfficiently complete guest transactions at the cash register or self-checkout stations and suggest products that complement purchases\nFood\nDrive excellence in food service by executing designed processes, implementing goals to increase sales and margin, ensuring product quality, and using training resources\nEnsure all food offers are available; ensure preparation areas and equipment are clean and properly maintained\nClean\nEncourage and manage a high standard of store cleanliness\nDirect, monitor, and adhere to all RaceTrac, federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations\nExecute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards, and represent the RaceTrac brand\nBuilding Talent\nDemonstrate RaceTrac's Core Values of Honesty, Efficiency, Positive Attitude, Respect, and Teamwork\nDisplay RaceTrac’s Leadership Qualities through acting with a servant-leader mentality, prioritizing tasks appropriately, going the extra mile for guests and your team, listening, and communicating respectfully, and solving problems with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach\nLead the coaching, training, and assessment of direct reports while adhering to operational standards\nDriving Success\nStrategically direct control of inventory and the distribution of materials, merchandise, and supplies\nReview financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and other performance data to measure productivity\nActively identify areas of operational improvements based on market trends\nDevelop and maintain a relationship with vendors to ensure efficient and correct deliveries\nEnsure communication is passed to every team member in the store\nUse company provided tools to coach, mentor and develop a high performing store team\nEnsure all risk management issues are in compliance with company standards\nCreate or approve Management and Associate schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while taking team member availability, payroll, and overtime costs into consideration\nOwn staffing in store by providing timely feedback on interviews to the recruiting team\nEngage in the hiring of all store associates; develops managers to understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiring decisions\nWrite, implement, and monitor manager development and performance plans\nEnsure proper procedures are followed in regards to hiring, promotions and separations\nEnsure all team members follow policies and company standards at all times\nEnsures that all team members have correct valid licenses as required by state or local laws\nHave complete understanding of budget and cost trends that impact operations; proactively work to drive sales and overall financial health of the store

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed\n5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience; retail management experience preferred \nPrevious experience working in high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred\nKnowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performance of the store including profit and loss statements \nHigh School Diploma or GED completion or (actively working on it) required\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite\nProven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practicesCan lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job\nMust obtain and maintain Manager Food Handler certification\nMay be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements
