General Manager

Opportunity summary: As a General Manager, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership of a box plant/manufacturing facility in the fast-paced corrugated packaging industry. In this role, you will have P&L accountability for up to $250M; and exercise your knowledge and skills to develop and lead people across safety, quality, compliance, sales and manufacturing, while building a strong culture of excellence.
How you will impact WestRock
* Be a great leader and motivator, creating an engaged and very satisfied workforce and loyal customers
* Lead P&L development including annual budgeting, forecasting, financial summaries and variance reporting/planning
* Manage sales, new accounts, monitor account activity and Salesforce to ensure the curation of opportunities
* Ensure awareness/compliance to all corporate, state and federal health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures and regulations
* Drive improved earnings, volume and lower costs through safety, quality, compliance, maintenance and protection of WestRock assets
What you need to succeed:
* Bachelor\u2019s Degree
* Minimum 10 years of experience leading people and managing multiple box plants or manufacturing facilities with responsibility for large P&L
* Minimum 10 years of cross-functional experience in Sales, Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Environmental Compliance, and Financial Management
* Ability to focus on outcomes that drive higher earnings, improve volume and lower costs
* Ability to create and promote a culture that propels high employee and customer satisfaction
* Capable of understanding how situations impact your decisions, behavior, communications and others
* Demonstrated commitment to driving customer satisfaction, financial performance and employee satisfaction
* Ability and discipline to manage your time and priorities in fast-paced and ever-changing environment
* Demonstrated experience in sales and ability to build solid relationships and understand customer needs
* Possess strong verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively and confidently communicate with a broad range of stakeholders including customers, associates, business unit management team and regional and corporate leadership
* Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead, and develop team members
