General Manager

As a General Manager (GM) you get the opportunity to work across and represent all Hertz Global Brands including providing overall leadership in the areas of safety, operating performance, customer satisfaction, positive employee culture, customer service, budgets, and vendor relations.

As the General Manager you will have responsibility for a local site and multiple locations/brands including Dollar and Thrifty.  The GM is responsible for having in-depth knowledge of all operations, management, logistics, technology, financial disciplines, and the site’s performance against metrics/standards including the management of customer service evaluation. The leader must have a proven track record of growing the business and for decisive actions backed by strategic and analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership, and service-oriented performance. As the GM you will deliver results through active leadership, direction, alignment and motivation of all employees while focusing on the development and implementation of location strategies to maximize profitability and revenue management.

One of your primary missions is the development of talent at all designated sites including the coaching and mentoring of management team as they develop their employees.  Additionally, the GM will drive for the continuous improvement of local site operations and work with senior leadership across Hertz to make sure that sufficient resources are available for the smooth operation of designated locations.

Commitment to training, developing and coaching a team of managers and employees to reach greater success  Work with and lead others as a team capable of executing effective sales strategies that reach goals while maintaining a high level of customer experience An ability to lead all aspects of the rental car business from Customer Experience, Sales, Fleet Management, Maintenance, Vehicle Service, Vehicle Replenishment, and Financial Analysis A deep desire to drive toward continuous improvement of operations and to be innovative by being able to spot trends and develop creative solutions An desire to be ultimate Hertz Brand Ambassador at all times as you seek to create a positive environment and solutions that generate continued customer and employee loyalty

 

Skills needed to be a GM:

Strong leadership, management, communications, interpersonal relationship, customer service, problem solving, fleet management, and sales skills Strong strategic planning and analytical skills including the ability to forecast demand, utilization, staffing, and financial performance A Bachelor’s Degree required and  7 – 10 years management experience in the rental car market
