General Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our Airport Shuttle Bus Services operation. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shuttle transportation, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and daily site management. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and the ability to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations including shuttle bus transportation, maintenance, safety, and customer service.  Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency.  Manage budgets, financial performance, and profitability of the division. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.  Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.  Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.  Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence and service offerings.  Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform decision-making.  Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and safety.  Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.

 

Site Management & Compliance

Act as the Site Manager, overseeing the day-to-day obligations under the contract with the Aviation Authority. Possess and maintain a current and valid CDL in the State of Florida with the applicable commercial passenger bus transportation licenses. Have a minimum of five (5) years of verifiable management experience in commercial passenger bus transportation, including two (2) years in airport bus transportation. Be capable of performing the roles of Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Shuttle Bus Driver, Shuttle Bus Dispatcher, and Administrative Staff when necessary. Ensure all contract obligations and safety regulations are met per Aviation Authority standards.

Full-Time Commitment & Availability

Be a full-time employee, locally based, and dedicated exclusively to the Aviation Authority’s Shuttle Bus Service operation. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Be available to respond on-site within 60 minutes upon request by the Aviation Authority. Designate and notify the Aviation Authority of an acting Site Manager when absent. Ensure all vacation and time-off requests are pre-approved by the AAR. Be present on-site during holidays as directed by the AAR.

Contract Representation & Emergency Response

Serve as the primary representative of the Contractor in fulfilling all obligations under the contract. Ensure that all instructions and notices from the Aviation Authority are executed properly. Be available at all times in case of an emergency declared by the Aviation Authority’s Chief Executive Officer or designee. Attend all required meetings, including:  Monthly Shuttle Bus Management Services meetings with the AAR. Additional meetings as requested by the Aviation Authority.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a senior management role within the transportation industry. In-depth knowledge of airport shuttle operations, commercial passenger transportation, and safety standards. Current and valid CDL in the State of Florida with applicable commercial passenger bus transportation licenses. Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial performance management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

Preferred Skills

Experience in business development and strategic planning. Knowledge of fleet maintenance, shuttle operations, and customer service best practices. Familiarity with transportation technology and dispatching software.  

Work Environment

Primarily office-based, with regular travel to airports, client sites, and industry events. Flexible working hours may be required to accommodate business needs.
