JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The general manager is responsible for overseeing and providing direction in all aspects of management of the golf facilities, including golf operations, course maintenance, customer service, sales and marketing, food and beverage, and accounting/budgeting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
Generate revenue by growing customer base. Works with Marketing Department to coordinate the marketing and customer relations programs to promote golf resort services and facilities to potential an expanding customer base. Coordinate development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar; monitor monthly and other financial statements for the club; takes effective corrective action as required. Maintain exceptional golf experience by creating a quality environment through staffing, programming, service operations, and maintenance. Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage golf, and other club services. Consistently ensures that the golf resort operates in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws. Oversee the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets and facilities. Manage facilities by working closely with all department heads to ensure short and long-term plans are executed. Participate in outside activities to enhance the prestige of the golf resort; broaden the scope of the operation by fulfilling the public obligations of the golf resort as a participating member of the community. Develop, maintain and disseminate a basic management philosophy to guide all golf resort personnel towards optimal operating results, employee morale and customer satisfaction.
