General Manager, Nordson MEDICAL Surgical Solutions (Quest Medical)

The Business
Quest Medical (Nordson MEDICAL Surgical Solutions) was acquired by Nordson in August, 2024. The business employs approximately 150 people, has revenues exceeding $60M annually, and is one of Nordson MEDICAL’s four primary divisions.
Quest Medical was founded on the premise of developing medical devices that would have a positive impact on patient care. Since 1979, Quest has been dedicated to providing the highest quality products to three target markets: Cardiac Surgery, Infusion Therapy, and Ophthalmology. Quest Medical’s highly differentiated microplegia myocardial protection devices and single-use consumables deliver real-time precise blood and cardioplegia solutions during open heart surgery. Quest’s microplegia system improves patient outcomes, including faster recovery times and reduced medication costs, while also mitigating the risk of bacteria infection.
Reporting Relationships
The position reports to the Executive Vice President of Medical and Fluid Solutions (MFS).
Direct reports include sales and marketing, product development, engineering, quality & regulatory, and operations. Human resources and finance partners are co-located and report to their functional leaders with a strong dotted line with the GM.
Position Charter
This position is a new position and is open due to the recent acquisition of Quest Medical by Nordson.
Nordson MEDICAL seeks an experienced, growth-oriented business leader with demonstrated ability to simultaneously drive top line growth while expanding margins through operational continuous improvement within the medical industry.
The successful candidate will have a high level of business intelligence, an orientation on both strategy and execution, the ability to interface professionally and collegially, a high level of integrity and a passion for success.
The candidate must have experience leading in the medical technology space with a company that has well-grounded business operating systems based planning and execution. Strong preference for experience with regulated devices.

Education and Experience Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical or business discipline is required; technical/engineering undergraduate degree and an advance degree is preferred.
